Underwater HockeyiPhone game by Cody Spraker

Privacy Policy

The short version

Underwater Hockey collects no personal data. It has no account, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting, no in-app purchases, and it never connects to the internet. Your settings stay on your phone.

Who this covers

This policy describes what the Underwater Hockey app for iPhone ("the app"), published by Cody Spraker ("we", "us"), does with information. It applies to every version of the app distributed through the App Store.

Information we collect

None. The app does not ask for your name, email address, location, contacts, photos, or any other personal information, and it has no way to send information anywhere: it does not open network connections. We do not use third-party software development kits for advertising, analytics or crash reporting.

What the app keeps on your device

The app remembers a few choices so it can start the way you left it. They are written to the app's own settings file on your phone and nowhere else.

SettingWhat it is
LanguageThe menu and on-screen language you picked, if you changed it from the phone's own language.
Venue and formationIndoor, outdoor or beach pool, and the team formation.
PlayerBody type, stick hand and preferred position for your own player.
Game speed and signalThe slow-motion setting and whether play starts on a buzzer or a pipe.

These values are not personal data and are not sent to us. They are removed when you delete the app. If you back up your phone with iCloud or a computer, they are included in that backup under Apple's own terms, like the settings of any other app.

Permissions

The app requests no system permissions. It does not use the camera, microphone, location services, photo library, contacts, Bluetooth, or notifications.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages. It contains no chat, no user-generated content, no advertising and no purchases, and it collects no information from anyone, including children.

Apple and the App Store

Downloading the app is handled by Apple's App Store, which is governed by Apple's privacy policy. iOS can share device analytics and crash reports with app developers; that is controlled by you in Settings, under Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements. We have not set up any service to receive them, so nothing reaches us.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app ever collects data, for example to add online play, this page will be updated first and the effective date above will change. Until then, the policy is as simple as it reads.

Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Cody Spraker (the "developer") for the Underwater Hockey app. By downloading or playing the app you accept them. They add to, and do not replace, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which applies to every app downloaded from the App Store; where the two differ, Apple's agreement governs your relationship with Apple.

Your licence

You get a personal, non-transferable licence to install and play the app on Apple devices that you own or control, as allowed by the App Store usage rules. The app, its code, artwork, sounds, names and text belong to the developer and are protected by copyright. You may not copy, sell, rent, redistribute or modify the app, or reverse engineer it beyond what the law expressly allows.

It is a game

Underwater Hockey is a video game. It simulates a real sport played on the bottom of a swimming pool on a single breath, but it is entertainment, not instruction. Nothing in it teaches breath-hold diving, and the times, distances and skills shown are game values, not guidance for the water.

The sport and its rules

The game's court, equipment and restarts follow the published international rules of underwater hockey. The developer is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by CMAS, any national federation, club or league, and their names are used only to describe the sport.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, the developer gives no warranty that it will be error-free, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to you only as far as the law permits.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, and the developer's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app, if anything. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Updates and ending the agreement

The developer may release updates that change or remove features, and may stop distributing the app at any time. These terms end if you delete the app or break them; the licence and ownership sections survive.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where the developer resides, except where the consumer-protection law of the country you live in gives you rights that cannot be waived, which remain yours.

Changes to these terms

Changes are posted on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
